Conquer your Trauma Nightmares for good in as little as one session

Trauma Nightmare Treatment (TNT) gives you the power to stop your nightmares.

Based on my 15+ years working with active duty servicemembers and Veterans with PTSD, TNT is a new and powerful technique that targets the reason the nightmare exists and gives you the tools to completely resolve it. TNT combines the state-of-the-art nightmare treatment with an innovative understanding of why we have Trauma Nightmares.

What are Trauma Nightmares?

Everyone has had a nightmare, which is just a frightening dream that wakes you up. Often, you remember the nightmare after waking. Most ordinary nightmares have an unknown cause and resolve on their own, but Trauma Nightmares are much more long lasting and severe because they are caused by a traumatic event you endured.

Nightmares are a normal response to abnormal events, and dreaming is a big part of how people process traumatic events. Although they are scary, nightmares do not have to be harmful. They cause harm when the same Trauma Nightmares occur over and over. This is what we call “getting stuck.”

When we get stuck on a Trauma Nightmare, it likely means that for some part of that event, we are taking on more than our share of responsibility.

You may know this from your personal experience: most therapists are not trained in treating nightmares. That’s why the most common recommended remedy is sleep hygiene, which is good for insomnia but not relevant for Trauma Nightmares.

Medications are also largely not helpful and can have serious side effects. Even those that offer some relief become less effective over time.

With no good alternatives, you may have lost hope in getting your Trauma Nightmares to ever stop. Perhaps you’ve found that drinking or drugs are the only way you can get some sleep.

I developed Trauma Nightmare Treatment (TNT) by working with patients sharing your same journey, and I have been using it with great success. TNT may be the answer you’ve been looking for.

How will TNT end my Trauma Nightmares?

Trauma Nightmare Treatment uses the nightmare to show you where you are stuck and what you need to do to process and accept the trauma. Acceptance does not mean that you like or agree with it, just that you are able to face the reality of what happened to you.

You can’t change the traumatic situation you lived through in the past, but you can work with (not against) the Trauma Nightmare in the present to change your response to it. TNT is an empowering technique that will teach you how to interpret where you are stuck, choose your own healthy resolution, and then edit your dreams to match. Once you understand what the Trauma Nightmare has been trying to tell you, it has served its purpose and has no more reason to exist.

After you have completed TNT, which may take only a single session, the Trauma Nightmare will not return. To get started, all you need is a willingness to discuss your Trauma Nightmare and to practice the TNT techniques.

Combat

Likely the most intensely emotional human activity, combat presents lots of experiences where people can get emotionally stuck.

Sexual assault

A tremendous violation and abuse of trust that too often is turned around into self-blame. Finding ways to reach acceptance can free you to live your life.

Survivor’s guilt

It’s very common that the death of someone close can haunt people for decades. Often these dreams will reveal how you are not letting yourself mourn.

Moral injury

Participating in or witnessing actions that violate your deepest beliefs is extremely painful. What you are trying to do in your Trauma Nightmares can unlock healing.

Accidental deaths

Not all trauma occurs in combat or from being assaulted. Accidents can also be events where you are stuck.

“I should have ______”

Common clinical wisdom is, “Do not should on yourself.” This directly creates stuck points. Moving on from should is very freeing.

My story

I am Zach Collins, Ph.D., creator of Trauma Nightmare Treatment. My 15+ years of experience as a clinical psychologist treating PTSD patients, mostly Veterans and active duty servicemembers, has convinced me that Trauma Nightmares are the most effective guide to how to help people with PTSD. I designed Trauma Nightmare Treatment to allow people to take back control of their sleep and their lives. I have dedicated my career and my life to treating PTSD, and I am happy to share what I have learned with those who are struggling with Trauma Nightmares.

I am also looking to build a network of therapists who share this vision and are willing to work with me to grow a more effective treatment network for Trauma Nightmares. As TNT becomes more readily available, it will empower people to conquer their Trauma Nightmares, and they will go on to be best able to support others who have or will face trauma.

I started my career when I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Binghamton University in 2008. I had my first experiences working with Veterans when I completed my APA internship at the Syracuse VA Medical Center. Since then, I have worked in many clinical settings, including Embedded Behavioral Health with the US Army at Ft. Drum, NY and in VA Residential and Outpatient PTSD clinics.
